Classes at Zen Fitness


Open to all levels, this practice features flowing movement. Modifications will be offered so that students can tailor the class to meet their specific needs. 
All motion begins from our center. Learn how to effectively use your core muscles to create a strong, healthy and lean body. Exercises are primarily done lying supine/prone/side on a mat. Small props such as foam rollers and light weights are often used in this class.  All equipment will be provided.
This All Levels Yoga class focuses on your personal alignment in poses while linking them together with the breath in a flowing style of practice.

Barre is a fitness method founded on the technique of dance, the mind body aspect of yoga, and the core work from Pilates.

Barre produces results fast using small isolated holds with tiny movements and tremendous mental connection. Expect an extreme challenge and prepare to leave feeling calmly energized with this hands on personal group training session.

High-Intensity Interval Training with Yoga is a challenging and fun workout that combines yoga and intense training exercises. It is an effective way to boost your cardiovascular strength and build lean muscle mass while also reaping the benefits of the breathing and stretching you get from yoga. The class will offer periods of maximum intensity (HIIT cardio and/or light weights) and working rest (yoga) to boost metabolism, burn calories, and get healthy.
Cardi-yo Fusion Basic
A modified version of our traditional Cardi-Yo Fusion class for those who'd like to try it out. We will focus on developing our form during body weight exercises, incorporate low impact cardio, and blend in additional yoga flows. Perfect for the beginner, someone recovering from an injury, or those who would like to incorporate a low impact form of cross-training.
Enjoy a class with poses and breath techniques woven together to make a gentle, beautiful tapestry for your practice. This class is appropriate for beginners.
Gentle movement and restful poses combine to give you an easy does it kind of class. This class is perfect for those participants need a gentle approach to yoga.  You will move but you will also rest.
1 or 2 Fridays each month following the Friday 4:15 express class, join us for some after-class socializing, eating and imbibing at one of our lovely downtown establishments.
Flow Yoga
This class incorporates postures into a “Vinyasa” (continuous flow) style at a comfortable pace. Poses are connected with each other and coordinated with the breath to increase strength, endurance, balance, and inner calm. Vinyasa is a physically active class combining core, upper, and lower body strength, flexibility and cardio and is designed for students seeking their own personal challenge. The magic of this class is that everyone is practicing the same posture at different levels of ability, receiving the same benefits. Prior yoga experience is recommended.
Combines traditional Pilates mat work with light weights for a lean, sculpting workout. 
Everyone can meditate! This class is for everyone who wishes to explore meditation and have personalized support. Beginners and seasoned meditators are welcome. Meditation is a natural human ability and it can feel relaxing, or blissful, surprising or comforting. Meditation is a way of being with yourself that supports your daily life. When we take time to get into a meditative state, we emerge refreshed and with a stronger connection to the things we love. Meditation can feel like your favorite time of the day. Each week will be different, so you will gain the greatest benefit if you can attend consistently. Light movement will be incorporated into each session.

Experience an intentional fusion of your favorite Pow{h}er Method classes. Barre mixes with Tap n Powher mixes with Strength n Powher and more. The combinations are endless providing a balanced total body workout with no chance for boredom!
Strength n’ pow{h}er is a intentional movement fusion experience rooted in balance and strength. The fifth class birthed within THE pow{h}er METHOD uses a weighted bar to enhance the strength component to further challenge participants. Training with added light weight has been proven to preserve muscle mass, assist with weight control, decrease injury risks and reduce incidence of osteoporosis.
Strength n’ pow{h}er motivates and empowers the spirit, soul, and body for women of all ages with an emphasis on building strength inside and out. Movement married with weight synergistically recharges and refreshes our energy and the innate fearlessness within each one of us.

Strength n’ pow{h}er provides form focused movement designed to educate our warriors in the safe and effective use of added weight resistance.

Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active style of asana practice. The postures will be held from 1-5 minutes. The use of props will be integrated into the hold of the postures so that the muscles can fully relax and the connective tissue can then be reached. The yin portion of the class will last approximately 40 minutes, we will then do a few Sun Salutations to address the yang (heating) portion of the class and finish with deep relaxation.

Relax, renew and re-energize! Gentle movement for all levels of yoga students.   We keep this class uncomplicated so students of all levels can learn at a very relaxed pace. A great class for beginning students.
Yoga Therapy class is Yoga designed to accommodate sore knees, backs, necks, etc. we provide individual attention to adapt each pose to your level. This allows you to participate even if you have not done yoga before or are rehabilitating an injury. This class moves at a slower pace and does not usually get down onto the floor. We use a chair for support and learn how to bring movement and circulation into tender places without aggravating existing sore spots. We have a very relaxing and enjoyable time together.
